Tsang Tsou Choi or the “King of Kowloon” was a Hong Kong contemporary urban artist known for his calligraphy graffiti. In the Digital Art Fair Asia, we have presented his artworks in the most innovative display that brings the beauty of his art masterpiece through the high quality of tools with advanced technology. The utilization of the old flashlight, representing Hong Kong old industry, integrating goggle-less VR processes to showcase his historic artwork. The memories of Hong Kong people has been brought back through this interactive experience.
少年時家住在九龍區,每天上學途中沿着界限街都會看到很多九龍皇帝的字畫,心想寫字的人其實是一個怎樣的人,他想表達什麼呢?
近幾年有幸認識了曾經照顧財叔的文化人,了解到財叔超過50年歲月一直堅持他的信念,這個行為本身已經是一種藝術。試問在急功近利的香港,有多少人可以一直堅持他自己的信念?香港本來的特殊性,曾經是「借來的地方,借來的時間」,吋金呎土彈丸之地,唯有通過拆卸舊建築,興建新設施,在本來的地方才可以創造出更高的金錢價值,因此財叔的作品也慢慢地消失。這個數碼藝術創作,利用了曾經是香港工業代表的舊式電筒加上VR感應器,讓大家可以尋找到屬於香港人的財叔。
